Philly has a lot of successful entrepreneurs in their roots. Michael Rubin is a well-known Philly entrepreneur and businessman, particularly recognized for his role in the sports and e-commerce industries. He began his entrepreneurial journey at a young age.

Rubin started his first business when he was just 12 years old, selling baseball cards. This early venture sparked his interest in entrepreneurship. He later founded a company called GSI Commerce in 2000, which provided
e-commerce services and technology to various retailers and brands. Under his leadership, GSI grew significantly and became a major player in the e-commerce space.

In 2011, Rubin sold GSI Commerce to eBay for approximately $2.4 billion, which further solidified his reputation as a successful entrepreneur. Following the sale, he became involved in various business ventures, including investments in sports teams. He became a partner in the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011 and has been actively involved in the team’s operations and development. Also he is a part owner of New Jersey Devils, and Crystal Palace. Rubin’s entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, has played a significant role in his success.
