The personal collection of baseball legend Willie Mays has achieved remarkable success at auction, netting over $6.5 million across a two-day event held on September 27-28, 2025. The auction, conducted by Hunt Auctions, featured a total of 944 lots from Mays’ extensive collection, with all proceeds designated to benefit the Say Hey! Foundation, which Mays founded in 2000 to support youth education, training, and health services.
Among the standout items sold was Mays’ home uniform from the 1962 season, which fetched an impressive $634,500. This uniform was notably worn during the All-Star Game and potentially during the World Series that year. Other significant items included Mays’ 1954 MVP award, which sold for $458,250, and his World Series ring from the same year, also bringing in $458,250.
The auction also highlighted Mays’ 1977 custom Stutz Blackhawk VI, a luxury vehicle specifically made for the Hall of Famer, showcasing the personal touch of Mays’ storied career.
